A meaningful contribution
Contribute to the renovation, protection and expansion of the preemie in Hillel Yaffe
About 430 babies are hospitalized in our premature hospital every year, most of them for a period of 8-10 weeks or even longer. Their weight ranges from 500 grams to five kilograms. Their treatment is intense and very complex and requires a combination of warmth, love and dedicated care along with professionalism and innovative equipment.
The current prematurity was built over 20 years ago and no longer meets the existing needs to treat the amount of prematures hospitalized there for long weeks and months. The overcrowding in the ward makes it very difficult for the medical staff to care for premature babies, and also for the families, who are often forced to reduce the visiting hours due to the overcrowding and the uncomfortable conditions there.
Despite these obstacles, Pagiye received the national award for quality and excellence named after the late Yitzhak Rabin in the public sector in 2009, in the track of units in health organizations.
Our premature babies need you!
The project to renovate, protect and expand the prematurity will increase the existing prematurity so that in the end you will receive a spacious, protected and modern prematurity with a size of about 900 square meters, including 34 beds (compared to 19 beds today) equipped with the latest equipment for the care of premature babies. The new prematurity, which will be built In accordance with the most advanced standards and the highest standards of an intensive care unit, you will allow us to give premature babies the most advanced medical care and family members the maximum comfort required to stay with their child for a long period of time.
The new prematurity will allow:
- Creating a space between the incubators for the well-being of the hospitalized babies and their family members.
- Creating a space that allows the medical team comfort in treatment.
- Creating a separation between the three areas of prematurity care: intensive care, intermediate care and follow-up care.
- infections prevention.
- Prevention of radiation (from other premature babies) due to photographs taken of another premature baby.
- Improving medical confidentiality - the overcrowding today makes it difficult for an intimate conversation between the medical staff and the family.
The cost of renovation, protection and expansion of the shelter - about 15 million NIS.
